New Research: Consumers Willing to Pay More for Locally Produced Food

Potluck and Benefit at the Midway Schoolhouse, Friday May 16th, 6–9pm

Bring your favorite dish to share, utensils and chairs for a Spring get-together potluck and benefit for Ukrainian Farmers. Ron Godin from CSU will be volunteering with 25 Ukrainian subsistence farmers in the Crimea Region in June to help them improve their long-term vegetable storage. He hopes to raise $500 to provide each farmer with a temperature and humidity sensor to maintain optimal storage conditions. The Blue Tongued Devils will be providing Bluegrass entertainment!!! Suggested donation $5 per person, kids free!

Vegetable Garden for Willow Tree Nursing Home — The Western Colorado Food & Ag Council is looking for some help to build a small vegetable garden for their residents. There are 60+ Seniors at the home who are very excited about the possibility of having their own garden. Mark Waltermire has contributed a design plan for a wheel chair accessible raised bed garden and Brad Burritt has agreed to oversee the construction. To volunteer, please contact .

Boards that Work: Workshop for local area board members — The Western Colorado Community Foundation, SPARKS and First State Bank of Hotchkiss are pleased to present a professional workshop for local organizations.
